The Ask:

Deutsch LA requested proposals for a TV spot with a web component for VW, focusing on showcasing the new GTI's power, using multiple GoPro cameras for a unique visual experience.

Answer:

As the Creative Director, I led the development of a treatment that highlighted the GTI's performance in various intriguing environments, utilizing the innovative approach of mounting dozens of GoPros on the car. The concept was to capture the car in panoramic film style, emphasizing the precision of the stunt driver's drifting techniques. The narrative centered around a "day in the life" of the driver, transforming routine errands into an exhilarating demonstration of the GTI's superior performance.

Result:

The creative and technical aspects of our treatment were instrumental in winning the project for director Jason Zada. Our approach to visual storytelling, combined with the engaging narrative, successfully conveyed the power and excitement of the VW GTI, meeting the client's objectives for the campaign.
